Hello! Here I will be sharing with you some things I have immensely enjoyed in the last few weeks.
The following are a couple of Books I recently read and absolutely loved. I used the library’s introduction because it does much better justice in describing them.
The World That We Knew by Alice Hoffman
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER * LONGLISTED FOR THE ANDREW CARNEGIE MEDAL
On the brink of World War II, with the Nazis tightening their grip on Berlin, a mother’s act of courage and love offers her daughter a chance of survival.
[A] hymn to the power of resistance, perseverance, and enduring love in dark times…gravely beautiful…Hoffman the storyteller continues to dazzle.”
The Shadow Of The Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
Gabriel García Márquez meets Umberto Eco meets Jorge Luis Borges for a sprawling magic show.
A New York Times Bestseller
Barcelona, 1945: A city slowly heals in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, and Daniel, an antiquarian book dealer’s son who mourns the loss of his mother, finds solace in a mysterious book entitled The Shadow of the Wind, by one Julián Carax. But when he sets out to find the author’s other works, he makes a shocking discovery: someone has been systematically destroying every copy of every book Carax has written.
I love classical Music but especially if it has a fun twist. You can count on the Piano Guys to make it beautiful and fun. Listen to the Für Elise Jam by The Piano Guys.
The following Articles made me feel my heart & my mind. Yes, that’s a thing. I can feel my mind sometimes. I can also feel when I lose it. 😜
This was a wondrous article on the beauty of being human (hardships and all) and creativity. At least that was my take on it. For me, this is a keeper for re-reading!
Natalie Daise on What We Call Holy Conversation & Audio by Stephanie Burt
If you ever fantasized about running away and living in nature you will find this interesting. I never did until now – except for the burglary thing 🤐
The Strange & Curious Tale Of The Last True Hermit by Michael Finke
It’s fun to share Quiet Thoughts. I hope you enjoy them.
